The Monkees

Where can I start? I have listened to their music since I was 12 years old (nearly 25 years and counting)! I saw them on their tv show on Monkees Monday on Nick @ Nite when I was in middle school. One of my last cassette tapes that I bought where their greatest hits and that was my very first cd as well! I finally got their movie “Head” on vhs at Sam Goody in the mall. That movie was hilarious like the tv series….especially when they got swept up in the vacuum cleaner. I also got The Listen To The Band 4 cd set there as well. I listened to those cds non stop! I was disappointed that the book and poster was missing out of the set. But I also remember going to a record place with my dad and buying more Monkees cds, including Barrelful of Monkees. Later on I got some of their newer cds, Good Times, The Christmas Party, The Monkees Live: The Mike & Micky Show, and Dolenz Sings Nesmith. I finally got to see Micky Dolenz and Mike Nesmith live in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 2, 2021. They were wonderful! I’m so happy that I finally got to see a Monkees show…this was The Monkees Farewell Tour. Sadly, Mike Nesmith passed away a couple months later. I never got to see Davy Jones or Peter Tork live. I regret that. I could tell Mike was not feeling well, but he did his best each night to put on a great show. Then on March 25-28, 2022 I got to see Micky Dolenz again on The Beach Boys cruise. Not only did I see his performance in the 5th row, but a Q&A with Andrew Sandoval. I was told that I had a great time, lol! But unfortunately I sprung my ankle and did not get to meet him at his bbq. Then I saw him again on April 8, 2022 in Nashville, Indiana in the front row. This was Micky Dolenz Celebrates The Monkees tour. The videos were excellent! His band also did a great job and are very talented! Andrew Sandoval waved to all of us and said hello. Coco Dolenz waved to me and then again later and smiled at my daughter! Rich Dart said he wish he could see all of us, but because of covid they could not right now. But he said I see you (after leaving getting his drums packed up). I already paid him on PayPal for the drumsticks for the show, which he will sign and put the show/date on it and mail it to me. John Billings told me on instagram that he would give the sticks some JB loving before Rich played the drums that night! Check out the Believer video where Micky Dolenz points at us. Also Wayne Avers, Emeen Zarookian, Pete Finney, and Alex Jules were amazing! I got their series now on blu ray, including their movie! Coco took photos of St. Charles church (where I go to church, went to school there, got married there) and then Micky & Donna went on a whisky tour here in my hometown. Donna said she wants to try to come back here in the future. Now I’m waiting to finally meet him in Michigan in the end of August for The Hot Wheels Weekend along with the Monkees car (which I saw as a kid in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at The Hollywood Star Car Museum).
